Apple’s Online Financial Services Experience Outage: Apple Pay, Apple Card, and Wallet


Apple’s online financial services, including Apple Card, Apple Pay, and Wallet, faced a temporary outage on Wednesday. During the outage, users reported issues related to transaction notifications and in-app payments. Although intermittent problems have occurred with Apple Pay in the past, this recent outage seemed to affect all of Apple’s financial services.

The exact extent of the issue remains unclear, but Apple’s system status page initially listed Apple Card, Apple Cash, Apple Pay, and Wallet as experiencing outages. Apple acknowledged that some users were encountering problems with transaction notifications for Apple Cash, while others might experience difficulties with web and in-app payments for Apple Pay & Wallet. As for Apple Card, the company simply stated that users were experiencing problems with the service.

Fortunately, Apple was quick to address the situation. While the outage lasted for several hours, the updated information on Apple’s system status page indicated that everything was restored within approximately 35 minutes. By 11:05 AM ET, service had fully resumed.

During the outage, AppleInsider was unable to reproduce the reported problems. However, it is important to note that some users did indeed experience issues with Apple’s online financial services. As always, Apple strives to provide a seamless user experience and promptly resolves any technical hiccups that may arise.
